Many people do not realize how rewarding a job as a beautician can be. Mila LeValley, owner and beautician of the Beauty Box, however, has found how rewarding the life of a beautician can be through her 25 years of beautician work saying, “I enjoy the people in Bird City. They are very caring and have been good to me.”

Following in her sister’s footsteps, Mila decided to go into cosmetology her senior year. She later decided to open her own shop calling it The Beauty Box.

Beauty Box opened in 1982 at the same place it stands today. Mila’s favorite part of the job she says is definitely the people and how close you get to each of the customers.
Mila grew up in the small town of Meade, Kansas and later moved to Bird City where she lived on a farm north of town. She has one daughter and three grandchildren. Working in a small hardware store for her husband’s aunt as a cashier and working with her husband on the farm were some of Mila’s other various jobs.

Now a person can find her cutting or styling hair and sometimes even painting nails. To set an appointment with Mila, give her a call at (785)-734-2288. Her hours are flexible, but generally range from 9 to 4.
